EU Legal Guarantee Notice and GARAN Label — compliant with Regulation (EU) 2025/1960
From 27 September 2026, shops selling goods to consumers in the European Union display two harmonised visual elements defined by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960: the notice on the legal guarantee of conformity and the EU GARAN label.
This module displays both in your PrestaShop store, at checkout and in the order confirmation email, in the customer’s language, with no theme changes. Right after installation, the notice is already shown in the places recommended by the European Commission’s official guidance.
Video presentation
Two visual elements, two different guarantees
The harmonised notice reminds consumers of the legal guarantee of conformity: at least two years, owed by the seller, for every product. The “Your rights under the legal guarantee” link appears in the header, in the footer, below category product lists, on the product page, in the cart and at checkout, and opens the official notice in a pop-up.
The EU GARAN label shows a commercial durability guarantee that the producer offers free of charge, for the whole product, for more than two years. The label appears on the product page, as a compact badge on product cards, in the cart, at checkout and in the order email, with the duration, brand and model filled in automatically.
Key features
01
The official notice in 24 languages
The harmonised EU legal guarantee notice in all 24 official EU languages, shown automatically in the shop language, in an accessible pop-up, with a link to Your Europe.
02
Flexible placements for the notice
Header, footer, above or below category lists, product page, cart, checkout, the reassurance block or a custom CSS selector.
03
The official GARAN label
The official artwork, with duration, brand and model, on the product page, in the cart, at checkout and in emails. Product cards show the compact badge, which opens the full label.
04
Four ways to set guarantees
Per product, from a product feature your catalogue already has (for example “Guarantee: 3 years”), with brand rules, or in bulk by category from the Assign guarantees screen.
05
Notice and labels in the order email
The order confirmation email gets the notice (image and link, the official PDF attached, or both) and the label of each ordered product, including in custom email templates.
06
Live compliance check
A checklist shows at a glance what is in order and, with the Fix button, takes you straight to anything that still needs attention.
Built for real shops
- Producer guarantees of 2 years or less can be shown as a simple mention (option under Display), never as a GARAN label.
- The Labelled products list shows each product’s guarantee and its source, with bulk actions and CSV export.
- Preview of the label and the notice in the back office and on the product page.
- Multistore: settings, product guarantees and brand rules are kept separately for each shop.
- Back office in 7 languages: Romanian, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Polish.
- No external services and no API key: the module makes no calls outside your shop.

Frequently asked questions
What are the requirements?
PrestaShop 1.7.8.x, 8.x or 9.x and PHP 7.1 – 8.5. The GD library with FreeType is recommended and available on almost any hosting: with it, the labels in emails are sent as images (without it, as text and a link). The img/eugaranlabel/ folder must be writable by the web server.
How do I install it?
- In the back office, open Modules > Module Manager and upload the .zip file (approx. 6.5 MB). If your hosting refuses the upload, unzip it, copy the eugaranlabel folder into modules/ over FTP, then click Install.
- Click Configure. The settings page opens on the Compliance check: the notice is already active and shown in the places the EU guidance recommends.
- Assign the GARAN label to products with a qualifying producer guarantee: with a brand rule, from a product feature, per product or in bulk.
- Send a test email from Emails > Order emails, then check the header, a product page, the cart and checkout.
Which products can carry the GARAN label?
Only products for which the producer offers a commercial durability guarantee that is free of charge, covers the whole product and lasts more than two years. Never the shop’s own guarantee, a paid extended warranty or a guarantee covering only one component. The legal guarantee always applies, whether or not the product carries a label.
Does it work with my theme?
Classic and Hummingbird work out of the box. A custom theme that lacks one of the standard PrestaShop hooks will not show the placement that uses it: add the hook, use the module’s widget, or use the custom CSS selector for the notice link. The user guide lists every hook.
Note: the module displays the notice and labels based on the data you enter. It is not legal advice: you decide which guarantees qualify.
Display the EU legal guarantee notice and the GARAN label in your shop — mandatory from 27 September 2026.
